Electrical Technology

Think electrical training only qualifies you to wire houses? Think again! Our Electrical Technology program opens up an exciting range of career opportunities in residential, commercial and industrial electricity. We offer the best theory and practice, with a focus on practical training with the same equipment that our students will see in the real world.

What can you expect?

You can expect to learn the principles of electricity and electrical systems. Our instructors - experienced electricians - will help you earn a comprehensive background in residential wiring, service instillation, code interpretation, conduit bending, electrical motor theory, motor controls, electronic controls, telecommunications, and other fundamentals of the industry.  

What credentials will you earn? 

You will graduate with a recognized college diploma, and will be prepared to write the Level 1 (basic) college exam. You will also be ready for an apprenticeship program.  

Where do you go from here? 

Graduates often go into apprenticeships, or into entry-level positions with titles such as Electrical Control Assembler, Electrical Instrument Repairer, Electrical Technician, Electric Motor Analyst, Electronic Motor repair Technician, Electrical Service Technician, and many others.

Admission Requirements

  • Personal interview to determine interest, attitude & values
  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma / GED or equivalent mature student status
  • Successful completion of standardized entry evaluation
